Our smart ultrasonic natural gas meter, developed through our expertise in regulation and metering equipment in the natural gas sector and approximately TRY 200 million in R&D investment, became a focus of the press in the context of digital transformation and sustainability in energy infrastructure.

At a time when digitalization in the energy sector has become a strategic necessity, the technologies we have developed through our domestic R&D capabilities and our contributions to the sector’s transformation as ESKA Valve continue to receive attention in the press.

In an era when growing global energy demand, carbon reduction targets, energy security, and efficiency policies are making data-driven systems essential for transmission and distribution infrastructure, our smart metering technologies and R&D investments have attracted media attention. Reports in the press emphasized that our work in natural gas regulation and metering equipment, together with the smart ultrasonic natural gas meter developed through approximately TRY 200 million in R&D investment, represents a new stage in measurement technologies in Türkiye.

The reports detailed the advantages of our ultrasonic measurement infrastructure, which, unlike conventional mechanical meters, contains no moving parts and calculates gas flow based on the difference in the transit time of sound waves. The reports highlighted the critical role of our smart ultrasonic meter, which offers high accuracy, long-term stable performance, and low maintenance requirements, particularly in preventing revenue losses over the long term by maintaining measurement accuracy even at low flow rates.

It was also stated that our product integrates remote reading, two-way communication, remote gas activation and shut-off, alarm monitoring, and mobile/web-based monitoring capabilities. Through its NB-IoT and GPRS-based communication infrastructure, the meter can securely transmit consumption and alarm data to central systems.

According to the evaluations featured in the press, our smart meters serve as data sources in the field for the gas network, enabling:

  • Consumption analysis
  • Faster detection of losses and unauthorized consumption
  • Reduction of processes requiring operational intervention
  • Improved billing accuracy

This structure was noted to reduce operational costs for distribution companies while increasing customer satisfaction. At the same time, it provides a robust data infrastructure for energy management systems and AI-based analytical applications.

The reports also stated, based on findings from international field studies and pilot applications, that consumers’ access to real-time consumption data increases awareness of energy savings and creates an average 7% energy efficiency potential in global applications. In Türkiye, an improvement at this level in residential consumption could contribute to reducing natural gas imports, lowering the current account deficit, and decreasing carbon emissions. In this respect, our smart meter technology was highlighted as a strategic tool directly connected to energy policies.
