Strategic statements shared by ESKA Valve General Manager Murat Çalapkulu during the live broadcast of Bloomberg 60 Minutes regarding Türkiye’s energy transformation, digitalization vision, and smart natural gas meter technologies received widespread attention.
Reports published by leading energy-sector media outlets Enerji Finans (“ESKA Valve General Manager Murat Çalapkulu: Türkiye Has Left a Critical Turning Point Behind”) and Petrotürk (“Türkiye’s Energy Transformation and Digitalization Process Discussed”) featured the evaluations of our General Manager, Murat Çalapkulu, during the Bloomberg 60 Minutes program, as well as ESKA Valve’s vision for the sector.
The reports highlighted our General Manager Murat Çalapkulu’s assessment of 2025 as a critical turning point for the energy sector and his remarks that Türkiye has significantly strengthened its energy supply security through increased storage capacity, LNG agreements, terminal investments, and natural gas production in the Black Sea. The publications also emphasized that Türkiye is evolving from being solely an energy consumer into a global player that produces and manages energy while implementing strategic plans aligned with its 2053 net-zero emissions targets.
“Digitalization Is the Nervous System of the Energy Sector”
The evaluations featured by Enerji Finans and Petrotürk stated that IoT-based communication systems, sensors, and AI-powered analytics increase grid security and predictability. The reports particularly focused on the significant transformation potential offered by natural gas metering systems on the end-user side.
Structural Transformation and Economic Gains Through Smart Meter Technologies
The statements receiving extensive coverage in the press noted that smart natural gas meters enable proactive management by generating real-time data and offer an average savings potential of 7% in global applications. When evaluated on a Türkiye-wide scale, this could mean preventing the import of billions of cubic meters of natural gas annually, generating economic gains at the billion-euro level, improving the current account balance, and achieving a significant reduction in emissions.
Our General Manager, Murat Çalapkulu, stated that applications such as micro-leak detection, remote gas shut-off during emergencies, and dynamic tariffs would improve the sector’s safety and operational quality. His remarks featured in the press were summarized as follows:
“At ESKA Valve, we see developing solutions that will make Türkiye stronger, more independent, and technologically capable in energy as our fundamental objective. While leading a structural transformation in the natural gas sector through smart meters and digital grid infrastructures, we will continue our commitment to producing world-class, domestic, and innovative technologies.”

The visit of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and the accompanying high-level delegation to our production facility in Sakarya, together with our domestic smart ultrasonic natural gas meter—the product of five years of R&D efforts—became a major focus of national media and industry publications.
